UAB rules! Defeating Kentucky was money.
Israel's leadership sucks! Firing a missile into the chest of a quadriplegic, no matter who he might be, is the most cowardly thing I've heard of in a long long time.

Below is an excerpt from the NY Times Fall 2003:
Few of Vice's fans or customers seem to realize just how deeply hostile Mr. McInnes (founder and owner of Vice) is to the liberal live-and-let-live ethos of traditional bohemian culture...Last month, he wrote an article for Patrick Buchanan in The American Conservative boasting of having converted Vice readers to conservatism..."I love being white and I think it's something to be very proud of," he said. "I don't want our culture diluted. We need to close the borders now and let everyone assimilate to a Western, white, English-speaking way of life." In an interview in The New York Press last year, Mr. McInnes's views came through in the coarse ethnic expressions he used in saying how pleased he was that most Williamsburg hipsters are white. As a result, he became the focus of a letter-writing campaign by a black reader. Vice apologized for Mr. McInnes's comments.
I guess I now understand how the mag can crack jokes about dead junkies and native alcoholism. When even cutting youth culture has been co-opted by motherfuckers like this, then its really time to surrender. Is it possible that the middle-class kids of America/Canada have become so bored, so afraid of being unoriginal, that they're turning to conservatism? Hopefully not, they're probably just being stealthed by Vice and its owners. It is impossible to really know if Vice is being sincere or just pulling a "stunt" with this right wing stuff...but I don't think that matters.

From Monday's Washington Post: "Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero (new Spanish Prime Minister) has promised to immediately withdraw Spain's 1,300 troops from Iraq, redirect Spain's foreign policy away from the United States and restore good relations with such European allies as France and Germany that had opposed the Iraq war."

The most recent issue of Vice Magazine includes a Foxnews-ish parody/criticism/rant(?) on Canada. "The worst part (about Vancouver) is, the bars are only allowed to be open for 12 hours a day and, since all the drunk natives insist they get to start at 11:00 a.m., there's nowhere to go after 11:00 p.m." Is that supposed to be funny? supposed to be real 'over the top' blunt shock value wit? Whole article.
Vice Magazine is garbage to make fun of the native plight in Canadian cities. Fuck you Vice. Feel free to flame their distribution person if you think this is unacceptable. lauras@viceland.com I know the intention of this magazine is to shock, but this crosses a line. You can shock anyone if you're willing to go low enough. (such as targetting race, drug addiction and poverty)
