Endearing Recordsposted by Hilts: 2/26/2003 04:47:00 PM Pushback Total fucking historic day. Estimates, which sound a tad high, are that almost 50 million people protested across the globe today against the invasion of Iraq. Largest simultaneous protest event in the history of the world. I thought it impossible at this point, but it seriously looks as if the word "inevitable" is going to be taken out of the lexicon for a while. With Blair looking at 15% support inside his own country and the Security Council standing firm, maybe the US won't get the chance to kill a bunch of Iraqi civilians after all. (maybe...)

Either the American Left has been so suppressed that, the US is no longer a functional democracy OR there is no American Left and we're heading for a terrible new era. Both ways, there's trouble ahead for this world.
Now its just a question of how diplomatically isolated America wants to make itself.
