Tucking your napkin in to your shirt collar is STILL the coolest way to eat. Especially if the napkin is paper. Marla noticed a guy doing this last night when we were eating. When i turned to look at him i thought to myself 'that man is the coolest man in Vancouver at this very moment'.

On Commercial Drive
Made complete monkeys of ourselves at the Endearing Records christmas party at Waazubee's restaurant last night...loud, drunk, arrogant, obnoxious, huckin shit around the room, arm-wrestling, breaking cd's into hundreds of tiny chards, yelling, laughing, drinking wine out of some kind of candle holder or something. I for one was surprised how subdued the rest of our label mates are...i would have thought that we'd be the dour ones. I wonder if we'll be invited next year. Our contingent for the evening was me, Arch, Dr. Roberts, Aksel Offguard, Angelica, Emily, Sharon and two cool Australians. Throwen is doing some good "work" in Cuba and dt is in Vermont or some shit.

no, we didn't make these mugs, and no, they aren't band merchandise. And yes, they're ugly. I think i'm going to buy one anyways.
Thanks to Sang for the link.

I'm sure going to miss that theme song! After 12 years of quality broadcasting, NBC's contract with the NBA is running out. It's looking like ABC and ESPN are going to get it. What does that mean? That means it SUCKS to be a basketball fan in Vancouver. ABC will reportedly be showing 15 games next season. Less than half of what NBC is currently showing. 55 games will be shown on ESPN, which is a channel most of us in Canada don't get.
First they take away our team, then they slowly start taking away our right to even watch games? bullshit!

Finally some justice for one of the pre-eminent and most articulate cultural and poltical critics around. The former Black Panther was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of a police officer in 1981. The case and trial are riddled with incongruities. Mumia Abu-Jamal has not been freed or even a given a new trial, but a Pennsylvania judge has ordered a new sentencing.

71% of Israelis now support "massive military action" against the Palestinians. Perfect.
