Our sleeve is finally done. Mad props to Heather@endearing for infinite patience.

I'm so stoked that the world is becoming so radicalized. July has been active. Even BC, here at home, has seen 3 significant demonstrations this week alone.
Question is: if I'm so amped about activism, why am I getting drunk solo on a Saturday night, listening to The Durutti Column?
Some things never change.

Take all the noises in a city, amplify them equally, play them simultaneously = kid606. (I just got back from his show) If you ever get a chance to hear his remix of New Order's Temptation, do so.

We received a test pdf of the artwork for the sleeve yesterday. We're close, very close. Just finalizing font colour and font-type now. I'm afraid only the thumbnail on the right, under "releases" is all we can show you at this time. Stay tuned.

A Canadian band called southpacific put out a really good record a couple of years ago called "constance". Then they split. One member has now formed Frihavn and another member has formed Suon12. So keep an eye out to see how that goes.

GW's plan to systematically f*ck up the world hit a snag today. Turns out the senate isn't going to allow him to drill for oil or to build open-cut coal mines on national f*cking monuments. Surprise, surprise.

Thanks to DGC/Universal and Beck, Readymade is no longer available on Napster. I guess one of Becks' songs is called "Readymade" so that means we can't use that public service to distribute our music anymore. Thanks Mr. Geffen. Apparently, DGC/Universal figures their artists are the only artists that matter.
I say screw Napster and go download a Gnutella client like Bearshare or Limewire. More info in the sounds section.

...our collective susceptibility to romanticize things that were in fact horrible just because we're so bored and because we've been worn down by copy after copy...tonight I hear NBC Nightly News refer to Slobodan Milosevic in the context of "who some call 'this generation's Hitler' ". Who are the "some" that would be idiotic enought to make that comparison? The guy is certainly no prince, but this has to stop. The Khomeni, Qadaffi, Noriega, Hussein, etc etc. Next Hitler, next Hitler, next Hitler. The legacy of Hitler is slowly being dulled and sanitized by proxy after proxy of media Hitlers.

This guy Christopher Hitchens is, as far as I know, the only radical that the mainstream american press ever allows on TV. It's always a pleasant shocker to stumble across him on major network television, to see him just ravishing (especially US) policy with accusations of deceit and villainy and corruption. He's taken aim at a lot of people, from dictators to Clinton to Mother Teresa. Also, he's a hapless drunk I hear, but that only adds to his cinematic image of the reckless and rebellious investigative journalist. This piece in TheNation.com is about Hitchens latest target, the always malevolent, Henry Kissinger.

The finished gold master for "On Point and Red" is in the mail. Process was relativley painless but took some last minute late night excursions to fix some noise issues on the mastered tracks. Props to Craig for all his work.
